Golden Grace Assisted Living & Adult Day Activity Reviews
I set out on a quest to find an adult day facility in Collin County that would meet the needs of my loved one with Alzheimer’s. His psychiatrist had agreed that having him engage with others on a daily basis socially would be beneficial in helping to slow his cognitive decline. So I visited two day institutions who advertised specialties in providing adult day care for those with cognitive issues one of which also included assisted living and respite care. My criteria included the following:• Clean and well maintained• Dedicated and trained staff• Professional nurse on duty• Safe & secure environment• Inviting atmosphere• Nutritional, well-balanced meals• Monthly calendar that included engaging activities and celebrations• Understanding of the needs of caregivers faced with the challenges of the Dementia journey• Recognition and appreciation for veterans• Cultural and spiritual enrichment• Fun, musical activitiesGolden Grace Assisted Living & Adult Day Activity Center checked all of my search needs! From the scheduled tour visit, I was so impressed with how organized and professional they were. I loved that the facility looked and smelled clean and was furnished in a modern design and freshly painted in a calming, bright color. It was evident that lots of planning had gone into the layout of the spacious facility to give their clients room to move about and with choices that would give them physical (exercise room, billiards table) and mental stimulation (board & cognitive games) to name a few, throughout their day. There is also an opportunity for them to enjoy outdoor planting and a putting green, etc. The library and dining room are excellent places for them to socialize with others. So the choice was made for my loved one to attend 3 days a week. The staff understands the needs of an aging population. They also accommodated us by hosting a scheduled video conference chat with his psychiatrist after which they emailed any updates from that meeting to me. The nurse makes sure he receives his midday dose. They are friendly, family oriented and have a passion for what they are doing. I would highly recommend this facility for those who want the assurance that their loved one will thrive in a setting with those who care about them.
Visited this location to see if it might be a good fit for a family member. Staff is some of the nicest people you'll meet. Facility was clean and well maintained, worth a look if you have the need.
Great family atmosphere. Clean, beautiful decor and very welcoming.
